The project involved the design, documentation and project management of an integrated base building refurbishment and fitout of the new Specsavers head office in Port Melbourne, VIC. The ground level facility comprises of approximately 13,000 square metres of tenancy space including external car parking. The general spatial layout which is made up of 2 warehouses includes a loading bay and dispatch area, office tenancies including amenities, a lab, a warehouse, training room, compactus, secure store, server room, and a “mock” shop. The project outcome is reflective of Specsavers values and vision and is well resolved with no defined hierarchy. The spaces are filled with natural daylight. The design is functional, relaxed and practical. The informal break-out offer flexible solutions and can be utilised for different tasks.
